HC sets aside Centre’s move in allotting IAS officer Vani Prasad to AP
Hyderabad: Finding fault with the way the Pratyush Sinha Committee determined the domicile status of All India Services officers during the 2014-cadre division exercise, a division bench of Telangana high court on Tuesday set aside the Centre's decision in allotting senior IAS officer A Vani Prasad to AP and directed the centre's department of personnel and training to allot her to the Telangana cadre within two months from now. She is currently working as special chief secretary with AP's labour department. According to her counsel KRKV Prasad, Vani Prasad's entire life right from her elementary education till her graduation was in Hyderabad. As per Article 371-D and Presidential Order, her domicile was determined as Telangana. The Pratyush Sinha Committee took her place of birth (Guntur) as the criterion and allotted her AP cadre. The bench comprising Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili and Justice V Ramakrishna Reddy said that Presidential Order prevails over all other orders and directed the centre to allot her Telangana cadre.
